The Future of the 56th Fighter Group
With Battlefield 1943 turning out to be a bust for PC gamers, some may be asking: "What is the future of the 56FG?" If nothing else, at least one thing is clear.. the 56FG website isn't going anywhere. This will allow our team veterans and friends alike to stay in contact reguardless of whether or not we are competing. Plinko has also been kind enough to allow us continued use of his ventrilo server as another means of communication. I know some of you use xfire mainly for keeping up with one another, but please do not neglect checking the site (especially the forums) for news and info reguarding any new developments with the team, individual members, or competition updates. Tourneys are frequently discussed and new games are coming out all the time, so you never know what's in store for the future. This site has become my tribute to the 56th Fighter Group for all the good times I've enjoyed over the years.. Thanks

BF1943 Brings 56FG Out Of Retirement
After tournament wins in TWL, BFCL, and SoV events along with #1 ladder rankings for 8v8 Conquest, 5v5 Infantry, and 2v2 Tank, the fire and tenacity of the 56th Fighter Group began to dwindle. Other games weren't able to bring back that level of energy either, and so the 56FG slowly slipped into retirement. The newer games switched to modern warfare and infantry only which left many discouraged. Although several members are currently MIA, a few of us have hung around and kept in contact. It seemed as though games like Battlefield 1942 were a thing of the past. Thankfully, however, there appears to be a new breath of life for game fans like us. Battlefield 1943 is due to be released this summer. Hopefully this new "sequel" will bring back the teamwork and intensity that made the original so much fun. If it lives up to the hype then a new era of defeating "unbeatable" teams is on the horizon. Welcome back 56FG.
56th Fighter Group Becomes Back-To-Back Champs!
The infantry of the 56th Fighter Group have done it again! Another league full of BF1942 hopefuls showcased their teams top infantry in an attempt to bring home the title of 'TWL Champions' for this season's 5v5 Infantry Tournament. As winners of the previous 5v5 tourney, the 56FG infantry crew came together once more in hopes of defending their hard fought title. This group included many of our veterans from past contests. In a repeat of last season, our troops entered the playoffs as the #3 seed and stepped it up when it really counted. After moving past the 100 member, unprepared, ringer team (banDitos!) 56th took on WáKé Clan in the championship match. Even though WáKé made good pushes during the final round, they were ultimately no match for Ghost's 200 ping, Tony playing like a "Squirrel on Crack", Harry's hiding skills, and the unbreakable defense and assault onslaught of the 56FG.
